 | A ferry line will run between Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada within a month, spokesperson of the Red Sea Ports Authority Abdel Raheem Mostafa told Youm7 Sunday.
The planned regular maritime trips between the two resorts will serve tourism in the two popular resorts and provide job opportunities, Mostafa said.
Sharm el-Sheikh lies at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, and Hurghada is located opposite to the resort just below the Gulf of Suez into the Red Sea. The ferry would be cheaper than an airplane and faster than a car, which has to travel a large distance to move between the two resorts.
In an effort to facilitate travel from cities to resorts, the government started April 1 a special train from Cairo to Matrouh Mediterranean resort west of the country. The train provides one round-trip per day. | | |
