| EGYPT’S SHARM EL-LULI BEACH NAMED BEST BEACH IN THE MIDDLE EAST IN TRIPADVISOR TRAVELLERS’ CHOICE AWARDS.
Users of the world’s biggest travel site have let their voices be heard for the latest edition of its Travellers’ Choice Awards, with thousands of voters naming Marsa Alam’s Sharm El-Luli beach as the best in the Middle East, ahead of Jumeirah Beach and Marina Beach, both in Dubai, which came second and third respectively. The beach was also ranked at number 22 in the award for the best beaches in the world. Sharm El Sheikh’s Shark’s Bay, meanwhile, was the only other Egyptian beach to make the Middle East final top ten list.
Located at Wadi Gamal National Park, Sharm El-Luli has become renowned the world over crystal waters and white sands and was ranked in the 2017 awards in third place. Reacting to the announcement, head of Red Sea Natural Reserves, Ahmed Ghallab, mentioned that the park and beach were particularly popular with Italian and German tourists, while also revealing that there are plans to announce the park as a world heritage reserve, because of its rich biodiversity and its housing of a Roman-era temple.
