Egypt: Tourism Minister - 200,000 Chinese Tourists to Visit Egypt By End of 2015
The Egyptian-Chinese ties are rapidly improving, especially after the visit paid by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to China, said Tourism Minister Hesham Zaazou. Speaking at a press conference held with the Chinese ambassador to Egypt to announce Egypt's decision to organize China's new year celebrations, Zaazou said that the Chinese side approved to launch flights from Shanghai to Aswan as of February 16. Political turmoil over the past few years caused a sharp decline in the tourism industry in Egypt, the Minister said, adding that launching flights from Shanghai to Aswan would contribute to flourishing tourism to Egypt. The Minister expected the number of Chinese tourists visiting Egypt would hit 200,000 by the end of 2015.
