battle of Shedwan during this battle the Egyptian forces with the

A military statement on the 23 rd of January announced that the Israeli
enemy tried to occupy the island but our Egyptian military air defense
forces defeated the Israeli airplanes where one of his Mirage
airplanes was destroyed and its pilot was seen landing with his
parachute into the sea ,the battle continued for 36 hours where the
Egyptians forces managed to defeat the Israeli &80 soldiers of the
Egyptian parts they occupied.
Casualties & death toll were on both sides, 50 soldiers for the Israeli
& 80 soldiers of the Egyptian. Chaim Bar Live the IsraeliDefense
Forces Chief of General Staff confessed that the Egyptian Forces were so
brave in defending the island inch by inch. It is known that Shedwan
Island is a rocky island which had a lighthouse & a radar set but it is
so close from SUZ Canal the vital area for Israel then. |
